Our Vision Statement

To be the global institution that unites, elevates, and gives voice to all people of African descent.

"The WBC will serve as a permanent platform for healing, self-definition, strategic collaboration, and the reclamation of our place in the global narrative — for this generation and every generation to come."

Proposed by Ladi Ayodeji and anchored in the Pan-African tradition of solidarity, the WBC draws inspiration from every generation of Black thinkers, freedom fighters, and community builders who came before.

Taking ownership of how Black history is written, taught, and transmitted — from ancient African civilisations to the modern diaspora. Our story is one of civilisation, not just survival.

Frequently asked questions
We anticipate many questions about what the WBC is, what it is not, and how it intends to work. Here are answers to the most common ones.
Is the WBC a political party or government body?
No. The WBC is a non-partisan civil institution. It will not contest elections, endorse candidates, or represent any government. Its role is to be an independent, community-owned platform that advocates for Black interests across political systems — holding governments and institutions accountable, but remaining structurally independent from them.
How does the WBC differ from existing Pan-African organisations?
Existing organisations often focus on specific regions, sectors, or political ideologies. The WBC is designed to be genuinely global — spanning every continent, every generation, and every dimension of Black life, from economics to culture to governance. It aims to be a permanent institution with a formal charter, elected leadership, and measurable accountability — not a movement that depends on the energy of any single leader or moment.
Can non-Black individuals or organisations participate?
The WBC is a Black-led and Black-centred institution. Allies who are not of African descent are welcome to engage as supporters, partners, and advocates — but governance, decision-making, and leadership roles are reserved for people of African descent. This is not exclusion; it is the principle of self-determination in practice.
